The SENG (Social and Emotional Needs of Gifted) five-session series is for parents of gifted, talented, and creative children of all ages. Particular emphasis is placed on practical techniques and skills that have "take home value." Parents meet in a small group with two facilitators to discuss parenting issues, characteristics of these children, and decisions that need to be made. Parents obtain information and have opportunities to share advice and swap parenting recipes. The SENG series will be held June 16, 18, 22, 24 and 26, 2009, at Columbia Heights High School Media Center from 8:15 to 11 a.m. Cost is $175 and covers all sessions, materials, snacks and the book Guiding the Gifted Child by Dr. James Webb. Child care services are available if arranged in advance at a cost of $5 per class or $10 per family, whichever amount is less. For additional information and a registration form, click here.
